The new £1.5million transit berthing facility in Oban will be a huge boost not just to Oban but to the entire west coast marine tourism scene. Scheduled to open in the middle of this summer. The facilities will act as a focal point for marine based activity and a welcoming point at the North Pier for maritime visitors and businesses. The new Transit Berthing Facility will allow direct access to Oban and help generate economic benefits for the town centre, the islands and the wider Argyll and Bute area. The maritime visitor facilities will have dedicated showers, toilets, changing areas and secure lockers. The facility will complement existing marinas in the area and can provide up to three nights berthing for visiting craft and day stops for leisure businesses.
