The Anchor Inn
Garelochhead is a small village at the end of the Gareloch which has a pub, café, Chinese and Indian takeaways, pharmacy, several shops and a post office. WC & showers at Inn. There are walks ashore and the Three Lochs Way goes through the upper part of the village. There is a train station and a half hourly bus service to Helensburgh. All the facilities are a short walk from the shore on the east side of the loch. Although a lot of sailors are apprehensive about a Faslane Naval Base there is nothing to fear so long as you are within 150 yards of the west side of the loch, ie west of the prohibited area marked on all charts.
Once north of the naval base head across to the east side of the loch and the visitor moorings are located very close to the shore on the east side.
