From the sheltered waters of the Clyde sea lochs and Loch Fyne to the more exposed waters around the many islands there is something to suit all abilities. Whether you want a challenge or just want a pleasant cruise the waters around the coast of Argyll and the Isles offer variety and stunning scenery. The facilities for the marine tourist vary from modern marinas, through traditional harbours to new pontoon structures and moorings, but all round this coast you will find plenty to encourage the marine tourist.

Kayaking

Argyll and the Isles boasts the first Scottish Sea Kayak Trail which reaches from Oban to Helensburgh link. The rugged coastline and the variety of islands offers plenty of scope for the kayaker from beginners to the more experienced. There are also a number of operators offering guided kayaking tours, to discover the coast and wildlife of this wild environment.

Diving

Beneath the waters of Argyll and the Isles there is a different world to explore and Argyll attracts leisure divers from all over the world. Whether it is to explore one of the many wrecks under the water, photograph some amazing landscapes or to search out some of the best seafood in the world there is plenty of choice to offer the sport diver at whatever level they are.

Sailing

Argyll and the Isles attracts sailors from all round the world, the amazing scenery and the facilities on offer make it one of the favourite cruising locations in Europe. Then for the competitive sailor Tarbert on Loch Fyne hosts the annual racing weekend that is Scottish Series and Oban & Tobermory host West Highland Week.

Wildlife Watching

Argyll and the Isles offers the visitor fantastic opportunities to see Scottish wildlife up close, whether it is bottlenose dolphins, basking sharks, harbour seals or porpoise there is plenty to see if you know where to look. There are several leisure companies that provide guided tours of the area and all its exciting wildflife.
